Workshops & Tutorials
During the IEEE ICVES 2018 Conference, the below workshops and tutorials will take place:
International Workshop on Connected, Automated and Autonomous Vehicles (CA2V’18)
The aim of the 2nd CA2V Workshop, as part of the IEEE ICVES 2018 conference, is to bring together researchers, professionals, policy makers, stakeholders and experts in vehicular electronics, active safety and protection systems, vehicular communications and IV/ITS related topics, to discuss and share she/he experience on current and future challenges of advanced safety technologies for connected and autonomous-automated vehicles (CAV). The CA2V theme is Advanced safety technologies for Autonomous Driving, emphasizing the current (on-going) and the next generation of safety and protection systems within a Connected-Cooperative Intelligent Transportation System (C-ITS) environment. Therefore, cooperative and multimodal sensor based advanced perception/protection systems, using artificial intelligence (AI) and/or machine learning (ML), will be particularly addressed in the 2nd CA2V International Workshop.
IEEE ITSS Spanish Chapter Best Theses Award Workshop
The Spanish Chapter of the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society (ITSS) announces the award for the Best Doctoral Thesis and the Best Master Thesis awards in the field of intelligent transportation systems (ITS). The price is designed to recognize the best research work carried-out by the Spanish academic institutions and research projects in the ITS field. Candidates must have submitted their thesis after January 1, 2017.
The Safety of Self-Driving Vehicle: A Tutorial
This tutorial covers the fundamental principles, techniques, best practices, and methodologies of functional and behavioural safety for autonomous vehicles. Emphasis is placed on Multi-Agent safety, SOTIF, and the role of governments to deploy safe vehicles. The tutorial begins with an introduction to AV safety and risk management followed by a coverage of Multi-Agent safety and SOTIF and ending with a discussion of government guidelines and writing a safety report.
